Frequently Asked Questions

Can I go swimming after colour?

Our advice is that salt water and pool related chemicals can in some cases discolour and fade a new colour. It may also dehydrate the hair causing dryness. If it is necessary to swim, please rinse hair thoroughly afterwards and we recommend a leave-in spray conditioner to equalise the porosity. (We recommend Dual Senses Sprays or Delorenzo Instant Reconstructor).

Do you go to hair shows & workshops?

Absolutely! Keeping connected and up to date with current trends is so important to us. The craft of hairdressing is ever-changing and we must evolve and grow. Hair expos, MBE conferences and industry workshops happen yearly and we also are involved in photo shoots and theatre productions. Location work is really fun, it extends your comfort zone and is very satisfying.

Is cutting curly hair different to straight hair?

Good question…. it is different simply because of the texture and springy nature of curly hair.

Often we cut curly hair dry, with a free hand type method. The reason for this is we can see exactly what the hair will do as we are cutting. A lovely shampoo and condition with stress relieving massage to finish, and recommendation of products to compliment curly locks! Hints for curly hair – never use a brush, scrunch in revitafoam (a favourite) as the hair dries using it daily to moisturise the hair.
